Serious Sam compilation coming to 360.

Today, we were informed by Kotaku that most of the Serious Sam games will be seeing a release via compilation on Microsoft’s Xbox 360.

This collection, which is set to be released on July 16, will include high definition versions of Serious Sam: First Encounter, Serious Sam: Second Encounter, Serious Sam 3: BFE (and the Jewel o the Nile downloadable content), and Serious Sam: Double D XXL. The game that won’t be seeing a release in this collection is the role playing game, Serious Sam: Random Encounter.

The games are, with the exception of Random Encounter, a series of first person shooters. Though those that have not played any of the Serious Sam games may be groaning at this point, thinking, “Geez, ANOTHER FPS?” the games have been praised by consumers and critics alike, winning several awards (including Game of the Year for the first game).

Will you be able to guide Sam through the encounters as he struggles to survive? Or will he end up a corpse on your screen?
