Square confirms that Kingdom Hearts 1.5 graphics had to be completely rebuilt.
As IGN informed us through an interview posted yesterday, the upcoming Kingdom Hearts 1.5 HD Remix won’t simply have upscaled graphics. It will have completely rebuilt graphics.
Tetsuya Nomura, the title’s director, made this known during an interview at E3 in which he also discussed both Final Fantasy XV and Kingdom Hearts 3. Said Nomura, “”Kingdom Hearts 1 was created a long, long time ago, so actually the original data was missing already. It was lost, so we had to research, and we had to dig out from the actual game what was available and recreate everything for HD. We had to recreate all the graphics and it was actually not that easy.”
This means that the game’s remake is taking more effort than it would have otherwise, as they have to essentially had to rebuild almost everything for the upcoming HD version.
Will this cause the game to be delayed at some point? Or will the current release date stay firm?
