Yoichi Wada steps down as President of Square Enix.

It was brought to our attention today by Kotaku that the president of Square Enix, Yoichi Wada, is stepping down from the position.

<:aside data-ids=”458811790″>When Mr. Wada was demoted, Square had announced that he would not be reappointed to the Board of Directors. Today, we learn that this was proven to be a false prediciton, as (according to a Square Enix corporate officer) Mr. Wada is currently listed as the incumbent for the position of Chairman of the Board.

While many people were shocked by the announcement, one forum commenter pointed out that the pattern is common among Japanese companies. Said the commenter, “This is fairly common in Japanese companies. A demoted president is moved into another powerful position, before disappearing from the scene completely. I wonder how Wada will turn out.”

So how will Mr. Wada turn out? Will he soon vanish from the company?
