Sony have admitted that the user reaction to the Xbox One was a “very useful source” for the PS4.
SCE Worldwide Studios president, Shuhei Yoshida, told Famitsu magazine this week that, “There were lots of people who gave their opinions on that issue to my Twitter account before E3,” before adding “It’s not that our hardware policies are decided strictly based on user reaction like this, but…it was a very useful source.”
Many commentator and fans feel that Sony’s user orientated approach at E3 has given them the upper hand over Microsoft. Hiroshi Kawano,SCE Japan Asia president, said that this was a pre-determind strategy, “For this system, we made a list of what people expected from us, debating over each point, with user feedback forming the main basis for the list. The software makers are also telling us that they feel like they really make some fun stuff with it.”
Sony have already announced that there will be more PS4 reveals at Gamescom in August, and with the Tokyo Game Show in September, there is plenty of time for them to keep getting their message across.
