Crackdown franchise still alive, image at Microsoft event not accidental
Eagle-eyed viewers might have noticed the Crackdown agility orb symbol during the Xbox One reveal event in May. When speaking to IGN about it, Microsoft Game Studios Vice President Phil Spencer was coy, but said “it wasn’t accidental.”
“I have a lot of love for that franchise,” he said. “The homage to Crackdown in the [May 21 event] reveal screenshots was … I know there was some, like, ‘Did we accidentally sneak that… ?’ It wasn’t accidental. Definitely.”
Crackdown is an Xbox exclusive, open-world, third-person shooter that was originally released in 2007, with a sequel in 2010.
