Samurai Shodown characters star in new South Korean game
It was brought to our attention today by Kotaku that SNK’s Samurai Shodown characters are now stars in a new South Korean game called Everyone Kal Kal Kal.
The game, unfortunately (in the opinion of many Samurai Shodown fans, that is), is one of those generic endless runner games. Though several players have agreed that the game itself (which is on both iOS and Android) looks good, most fans of the game lament that Samurai Shodown has yet to see a new game in the series that isn’t just a spinoff of some sort.
For those unaware, Samurai Shodown made its debut in 1993, and differed from several of the other fighting games available at the time. Rather than place emphasis on combos, for example, Samurai Shodown placed more emphasis on quick, powerful strikes. It was also one of the very first fighting games to focus primarily on weapon-based combat.
Will Samurai Shodown receive an upgraded version of its fighting roots?
