Kojima: MGS V may incorporate Kinect and SmartGlass
Following on from the E3 showing of Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, Hideo Kojima – the series’ creator – has been speaking about how the Xbox One could incorporate new features.
In an interview with Major Nelson’s Xbox channel, Kojima has been talking about the features of the new Kinect and SmartGlass. He said, “The Kinect itself brings a lot of different capabilities as well and I will like to see what I can do with the voice command, and the movement with the gestures and see what we can do with that.”
On SmartGlass he added that, “different devices to bring the hardcore gameplay to different kind of media” is something he is, “really looking forward to.”
Kojima is well known for incorporating console’s features into his games with Metal Gear Solid featuring Pyscho Mantis who could ‘read’ the players’ memory card and controller input. Anything that Kojima says should be taken with a pinch of salt, but if he is looking into bringing next-gen capabilities into his game then it is something all gamers can look forward to.
