Oka one of several developers to be interviewed if Kickstarter is successful.
The Kickstarter created by John Szczepaniak to tell the untold stories of Japanese game development is nearing its goal. As of today, it has raised £49,183 of its £50,000 goal, and has 5 days remaining to earn the final £817.
The Kickstarter aims to remedy the fact that there are so few books in English that focus on Japanese game development. Mr. Szczepaniak currently has over 40 Japanese developers lined up to be interviewed, which would make this book, if successful, the book with the most Japanese game developer interviews available.
Mr. Szczepaniak has a simple plan in mind to create this book, however he lacks the funds to put said plan into action. His plan is to fly to Japan in September, hire the best Japanese/English interpreters available, then utilize them to interview as many Japanese developers as he possibly can within 3 months.
Will the Kickstarter be successful? If so, will the book prove useful to many aspiring game developers?
