Age of Empires coming to WIndows Phones, iOS, and Android.

As Kotaku reported yesterday, Age of Empires game (most likely the recent reboot of the series) will be heading to iOS, Android, and Windows Phone devices later this year.

Klab, the developer of the games, has said that the upcoming mobile game will be free to play. For those unaware, this will be the first game that Klab has created a mobile version of.

According to the report, Age of Empires will merely be the first game in a line of Microsoft games that the Japanese developer will be releasing mobile versions of.

The announcement has led many to wonder just how well the game will work on mobile devices. Others are quick to point out that there are several successful RTS games on mobile platforms, including Command & Conquer 4 and even Age of Empires III.

Will the upcoming Age of Empires be able to take a place in the best games for mobile devices? Or will it come up short?
