Bethesda: We won’t announce games until we’re ready
Zenimax, the parent company of Bethesda, have been talking to Polygon about their absence from E3.
Pete Hines, Vice President of Zenimax, has been stressing that the company is not going to rush into announcing anything before it is ready. He said, “We are not into annual franchises — just trying to spin out a version of our game year, after year, after year — like, we have never done that, I don’t see that it is something that we are doing anytime soon.”
According to Hines, the philosophy of Zenimax is to give the studios time to develop their creative ideas before releasing news or teasers. Though this may mean that fans have to wait a little longer to see the next Fallout, it also means that the game is unlikely to tonally shift much between announcement and release.
Despite this Bethesda have already had a busy 2013. With Elder Scrolls Online, The Evil Within and Wolfenstein: The New Order already announced the company has set out many of the big blockbusters for near future.
