Thief officially announced for PS3 and Xbox 360

The reboot of Thief has officially been announced for PS3 and Xbox 360.

While the game had already been announced for PC, PS4 and Xbox One, it had been unclear whether it would also be coming to current gen consoles. Eidos Montreal announced in a blog today that, “Yep, it’s official! Thief is now confirmed for PS3 and Xbox 360”

Even more importantly, the game will be coming to all consoles at the same time. While the next-gen consoles and PC will offer up more of a visual treat, Eidos Montreal confirmed that “it’s important to know that Thief’s core gameplay experience will be the same across all platforms. The development team wanted to take special care to ensure their vision for the game was achievable on the current generation of machines.”

With this- and other next-gen titles such as Watch Dogs – appearing on both generations at the same time, both Microsoft and Sony show that they will still be supporting their current machines well into the future.
