BioWare: Next Mass Effect game to borrow “core systems” from Dragon Age 3
BioWare has claimed that Mass Effect 4 will “borrow” core game systems from the new Dragon Age game in order to speed up it’s development.
The news, reported by CVG, comes as BioWare Montreal studio director Yanick Roy revealed on Twitter that the first design document for ME4 had been completed. When asked by a fan if this meant that we might be in for a long wait for the game, Roy replied, “”Don’t worry: we have a large and talented team, we started a while ago, and we are ‘borrowing’ a lot of game systems from DA3.”
We already know that the new ME game will not include Shepard and will follow a new character. It’s also been confirmed that the game will run on the Frostbite 3 engine but little else is known. Is this a tease that it will also include a large open world, similar to that of DA?
The game is being developed by BioWare Montreal after the original team at BioWare Edmonton moved on to work on a new IP.
