Sony: If we want to be more successful, we have to earn it


Sony have played down the effect of their E3 conference, telling MCV that, “if we want to be more successful, we have to earn it.”

These comments came from Fergal Gara, the boss of SCE UK. He added, “E3 is important for early momentum and generating pre-orders. But it is only one step along. We feel we had a good day but there is loads more hard work to do, and we are focused on that.”

The company won plaudits for it’s stance on DRM and used games, as well as for announcing a price of only £349, compared to the Xbox One’s price tag of £429. Their conference was also far more aggressive than their usual stance and included several thinly-veiled attacks on the Microsoft machine.

These comments are encouraging for Sony fans, hinting that they have are determined to drive home their message and may have more to announce as the year goes on.
