Microsoft have been stressing that although many believe the company to have come out as the loser at E3, they are not out of the race yet.
In an interview with Spanish newpaper El Pais, reported by NeoGAF, senior executive Yusuf Mehdi defended the Xbox One’s performance at the show. He said, “We unveiled 20 titles for Xbox One, of which 17 are exclusive to this console. I do not think Sony can say the same,” before saying, “In the long run our console wins.”
He also addressed the issue of always-online play saying that, “it is a mere connection to check who the user is and what is in your account. It doesn’t require a powerful connection. Just use a mobile for the check.”
While it’s true that Microsoft did place more emphasis on the games that are exclusive to the Xbox One, many consumers are still unhappy at the stance on used games and DRM. There are still many months ahead before either console is released so the PR battles between the companies are only set to intensify.
