DFC states that the future of the entire Xbox business is in question

Microsoft's entire gaming operation could be in jeopardy.

Microsoft’s entire gaming operation could be in jeopardy.

According to a report on MCV today, DFC (an interactive entertainment research firm) has delivered a verdict on the Xbox One’s market chances that Microsoft certainly would not want to hear.

In fact, Microsoft’s presentation (at least as far as the console was concerned) was such a failure, according to the firm, that it could jeopardise their entire gaming operation. Said DFC, “Microsoft’s overall strategy for entertainment devices is deeply flawed.”

Specifically, DFC’s David Cole stated, “So far this has not had a major negative impact on the Xbox business but that is likely to change with the Xbox One launch. Right now the entire future of Microsoft’s consumer entertainment business is in question and that is likely to have a major impact on the game industry.”

Will Microsoft implement changes in the Xbox One before release that could cause the firm to change their verdict on the report? Or will DFC’s predictions prove to be correct?

I could definitely see this turning into a gigantic problem unless they are willing to modify their practices.

To be fair, these guys said the same thing for Sony before this generation started.
