During E3 last week, Infinity Ward’s Mark Rubin had told GameSpot that Call of Duty: Ghosts for the Wii U was a possibility but that they weren’t ready to talk about it yet.
“That’s probably in the next-gen bin, but we’re not actually talking about Wii U yet. ‘Cause we want to keep it mysterious,” he said.
Games Industry International followed up with him this week about that comment to which he stated, “Ha! You know that’s funny, because I don’t even know the answer to that. I swear to God, I don’t. I was trying to say in the interview; I really don’t know and I’m not supposed to talk about it. I’m not supposed to talk about the fact that I don’t know.”
When pressed about how he feels the game would fair on the Wii U, Rubin said he figured it would be in line with current-gen offerings.
“If you look at the hardware specs, I think it would be more in line with 360 and PS3, but I’m not sure. There could be some things [from the Wii U hardware] that bump it up a little higher than that,” he described. “I haven’t played with it enough to know. I have one at home, and I think it’s cool; I can’t stop playing ZombiU.”
So while there isn’t any confirmation as to whether Ghosts will be making it to the Wii U, at least there appears to be some hope.
