Kojima reveals more details on Metal Gear Solid V: Phantom Pain

Speaking with CVG earlier today, Hideo Kojima went into more detail about certain aspects regarding Metal Gear Solid V.

One thing that fans had wondered and that CVG asked Mr. Kojima was whether or not Metal Gear Solid V will have an online aspect, he replied, “Yes, we plan on creating Metal Gear Online. Multiplayer right now is being created at our LA studio as well as us. We’re working closely to create a vast multiplayer for all the fans.”

He also spoke about how whether the game is more action-focused than its predecessors is completely up to the player. Said Kojima, “There’s a goal, and you have to go in and out, but whether the player uses stealth or goes straight into it – that’s up to the player.”

Finally, he spoke about modes of transportation. During the E3 trailer that was shown, we saw Big Boss riding a horse in order to get somewhere. The player, however, can choose to take another mode of transportation, or even walk.

Depending on how they travel, they may arrive at an enemy base during the day or night, and that will play a large part in changing your strategy. Said Kojima, “But by the time you walk to the base, it might be dark. So that ruins or changes your strategy. Equally if you go by horse it might be day still, so you have to think an execute based on the time of day too.”
