Kingdom Hearts 3 was “announced too early” according to director
While the Kingdom Hearts 3 announcement excited many fans, it was probably announced a little too early according to its director Tetsuya Nomura.
In an interview with Famitsu and reported via Kotaku, Tetsuya said that they decided to show off the game alongside Final Fantasy XV as, “there have been alot of spin-off games since Kingdom Hearts 2 and a lot of fans were probably getting anxious,” but added, “considering where we are in development, it may have been a little early.”
The game has been confirmed to be using the same Luminous Studio engine, like Final Fantasy XV to create the game, which can then be ported to both PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. With the game so early in development the battle sequence at the end of the trailer had to be pre-rendered by Tetsuya assured fans that the real time experience would be the same.
Tetsuya also stated that there would be more information on the game at this year’s Tokyo Game Show in September, as well as a separate Disney event to be held in Japan in October so there’s plenty of reason to be patient about more news coming soon.
