Microsoft confident that gamers will love their console, despite all the shortcomings.
During an interview with GTTV earlier today, Microsoft’s Mattrick expressed confidence that gamers will love the upcoming Xbox One.
Mattrick stated that the console was created by gamers for gamers. Said Mattrick, “I find it kind of ironic when people take a step back and think, ‘this is a company that hasn’t thought about, at its core, what it means to have great games experiences.’ So we’re going to deliver that. And I think in the long run, we’ll build a global leading product that people are going to love and embrace.”
Mattrick then tried to turn the DRM and connectivity check-ins into a positive thing, stating that, “until you use it, it’s really hard to understand what all the advantages are.”
What is Microsoft’s answer for those that do not have an internet connection (or may have a connection that wouldn’t be fast enough, for whatever reason) to perform the required checks? That those people should be the 360.
Microsoft’s strategy certainly seems to be lacking this generation. Do you believe it will backfire? Or will they somehow turn things around?
