EVE at E3: True Stories will be told
Since it’s inception, EVE and it’s community have grown to enormous proportions. As it is now, they have over 500,000 players participating in the MMO and it has been rising year after year. Along with their enormous fan base are the dedicated developers. This isn’t just a small team of people, but a group of developers who work to make sure that EVE and Dust 514 are top notch and what the gamers want. They are truly the meaning of “For the gamers”.
Along with a new time line, the “Titan” takedown, and the game’s debut at the Museum of Modern Art, fans stories from the game are being told. CCP is working with different companies to make a comic and television series telling actual stories that players have experienced. These “True Stories” were submitted by fans, and voted on by fans. The True Stories comic will be coming out this winter. The digital version will be free while the physical copy will come at a cost that was not disclosed by CCP.
Unfortunately for gamers looking forward to next gen, CCP does not have any current plans to bring Eve to the PS4. I was told that they are investigating all possibilities though, but again really on plans for next gen. CCP really expects Dust 514 to stay around for a decade or so on the PS3. There is however a chance that Eve may be going mobile. CCP has a new mobile division and that mobile is a priority for them.
