During the E3 Nintendo Direct presentation, Nintendo revealed some all new details on their upcoming Pokémon games which are officially slated for an October 12 release as of today. This release date matches up with the global October launch window that Nintendo announced back in February. It was confirmed that October 12 would be a worldwide release date, meaning that no country or region will have Pokémon X or Y before anybody else.
Of particular interest was the newly revealed Fairy type, which has a super effective advantage over the eponymous Dragon types that have ruled the Pokémon games for generations. This new type will be retroactively applied to a handful of existing evolutionary families, such as Marril, Gardevoir, Jigglypuff and the new Eeveelution Sylveon is also confirmed to be part of this new Fairy type.
