E3 2013: Xbox One Launches this November for $499 in the US [UPDATE: Day One Edition detailed]

The Xbox One, Microsoft’s next-generation console, will launch worldwide this November, Microsoft announced during its Electronic Entertainment Expo press conference today.

The console will be available for $499 in the U.S., €499 in Europe, and £429 in the U.K.

The Xbox One will include a new Kinect that must be connected to the console for it to function.

Every Xbox One will require an online connection ever 24 hours in order to play games, and every 1 hour if someone is playing on a console that’s not their own.

Microsoft announced last week that used game fees, availability and functionality will be determined by the game’s publishers.

Update: The Xbox One Day One Edition console is available for pre-order at Amazon. The console includes a limited edition controller, a code to unlock an “Day One” achievement, “premium packaging, and decal,” according to the page.

yup… damn it… Do you know if Rare is working on KI at all, or is it all Double Helix?

I believe it’s all Double Helix. Microsoft slyly never said the “historic IP,” would be developed by Rare, but only that it was Rare’s at one time.
