E3 2013: Battlefield 4 features 64-player multiplayer, top-down Commander Mode for tablets and phones
Battlefield 4 will support 64-player multiplayer matches and will include a top-down view mode called Commander Mode, publisher Electronic Arts announced during its Electronic Entertainment Expo press conference today.
In Commander Mode, players can call artillery strikes and use their view advantage to give teammates enemy locations. Commander Mode can be played from the game or from a variety of unspecified tablets and smartphones.
A live demo of the Siege of Shanghai multiplayer map was shown during EA’s press conference.
Battlefield 4 will introduce sea battles to the series.
Battlefield 4 will launch on October 29 for Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, and PC.
