Skylanders coming to next-gen consoles

Skylanders Swap Force has been announced for next-gen systems.

While it was already known that it will come to the Wii U, Wii, 3DS, PS3 and 360, Activision announced that the game will also release on the Xbox One and PlayStation 4. The game will release on Oct. 13 in North America, Oct. 16 in Australia and Oct. 18 in Europe for all current-gen systems.

Pre-orders for packs opened today. The starter pack costs $74.99, individual figures cost $9.99 for core characters and $14.99 for Swap Force characters, which can interchange top and bottom halves. Pre-orderers can also get a free toy at participating retailers.

The 16 new Swap Force figures will make for more than 250 new combinations and include abilities such as flying and teleporting.
