The future of Final Fantasy to be revealed on June 11.

According to a post made on Destructoid yesterday, Square Enix has sent out an invitation to the media. This invitation mentions a pre-E3 event, and is scheduled to occur at 9am on June 11.

This invitation was simple enough. Says Destructoid, “Our invite says that we’ll get some Q&A time with senior vice presidenet Shinji Hashimoto. This is the same man that told us that Square Enix is working on a next-gen title back in February at the PS4 announcement.”

What does this mean? Well, many have been speculating about Final Fantasiy’s future lately, with many people insulting the series. As such, some speculate that Square will cancel the series (not likely). Others speculate that the vice president will officially reveal that a PlayStation 4 Final Fantasy game is being worked on.

With so little detail revealed on the invitation, it is hard to say what Mr. Hashimoto will speak of during the event. Will he announce a brand new Final Fantasy? Or will he, perhaps, bring bad news about the series to light?
