CCP assures players that none of their information was compromised in DDoS attack.
As players of EVE Online and Dust 514 are no doubt aware, this past weekend CCP’s servers suffered a DDoS attack. Players that are concerned that their information was stolen have nothing to fear, according to a statement released by CCP yesterday.
Says CCP, “We would like to stress that at no time was customer data compromised or accessible in any way.” In addition, they assure players that they will be monitoring the situation very closely to ensure that this does not change.
They go on to thank the players for their continued support, and promise to provide compensation for the downtime. Just what this compensation is, they have yet to state, but have promised that they expect to make an announcement detailing what it is and how to claim it soon.
Now that CCP has closed the vulnerability that the hacker used to launch the DDoS attack, hopefully there will be no further issues. But what, exactly, do you believe this compensation will be?
