A familiar face returns to NetherRealm’s ‘Injustice’ as DLC
Well, this one certainly came out of left field.
After Lobo and Batgirl were introduced to the world of Injustice: Gods Among Us, people began speculating who would be the next downloadable character. Would it be another superhero? Perhaps Beast Boy or Starfire to round out the Teen Titans would appear. Or maybe Poison Ivy or Mr. Freeze would emerge from their cells in Arkham Asylum.
However, the next character to join the Injustice fracas will be Hanzo Hasashi, better known as Mortal Kombat‘s Scorpion.
Scorpion appears as a tribute to NetherRealm’s most successful franchise, and is designed by Jim Lee, co-publisher at DC Entertainment. The undead ninja is one of Mortal Kombat‘s most commonly crossed-over characters, being featured in games such as NBA Jam Tournament Edition, The Grid, and MLB Slugfest: Loaded. Scorpion fought against the denizens of the DC universe once already in Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe in 2008.
Scorpion will be available for 400 Microsoft points on Xbox LIVE or $4.99 on PlayStation Network. Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment has yet to set a release date on Wii U DLC.
Warner Brothers Interactive Entertainment released a video featuring Ed Boon and Jim Lee talking about the redesigned version of Scorpion:
