Some odd speculation has surfaced, in regards to the troubled and continually delayed release of Prey 2.
Kotaku has recently reported that the same studio who developed Dishonored (Arkane Studios), has been chosen by Bethesda to finish the game.
The first Prey came out way back in 2006, and was originally developed by 3D Realms, of Duke Nukem fame. The publisher Bethesda has switched developers several times, in trying to get the sequel finished and into gamers’ hands.
What’s even more interesting about the rumors, is the new direction Arkane is supposedly taking the title. A few unnamed sources close to the project have even been quoted as saying “forget it’s Prey 2, treat it like a System Shock game.”
This information remains speculative, but remains of interest to anyone who’s been wondering about the current status of the long awaited first-person-shooter.
