On May 29, after Kojima teased that the new voice of Snake would be revealed soon, David Hayter, the voice actor that took up the mantle for the previous Metal Gear Solid games posted a cryptic tweet, which states, “I’m so excited for E3! I just hope I don’t lose my voice. ;-)”
This tweet has caused speculation to run rampant among Metal Gear fans, making many wonder if Hayter is hinting that he will indeed be returning to his usual role as the legendary soldier. If he is, it would certainly be good news, as David Hayter is Snake to many fans of the series.
That said, it should be noted that Kojima specifically said that they’d be revealing “Snake’s new voice actor”, and it seems highly unlikely that they would choose those words if they were going to recast Hayter. As such, it is possible that his tweet is a joke, or he’s just hoping that he won’t lose his “Voice” to many of the fans as Snake.
What are your thoughts? Is Hayter’s tweet a joke? Or are they going to bring the voice actor who fits Snake so well back after all?
