Xbox One controller expected to last ten years
It would seem that Microsoft have been doing some stress tests on the controller for their upcoming flagship console and the results are interesting.
It’s estimated that the controller will last for at least 10 years, meaning that it will probably out-live your actual console. If it is so durable, perhaps it is immune to the dreaded fate of controllers that often accompanies a bout of pure nerd rage. They’re not saying that the controller is unbreakable, but it certainly is going to be durable.
They went through a number of different tests, including stress tests on both the buttons and the control sticks, as well as drop tests and the results spoke quite highly of the controller.
