Shadow of the Eternals ‘unlikely’ if crowdfunding fails
Shadow of the Eternals, the spiritual successor to Eternal Darkness proposed by Precursor Games, is unlikely to exist should its crowdfunding effort fall short, COO Shawn Jackson said today during a Reddit Ask Me Anything.
“Since we do not have any other source of funding,” Jackson wrote, “it is unlikely.”
Precursor Games launched two crowdfunding platforms to develop the first episode of Shadow of the Eternals, one on its own website, and one through Kickstarter. At the time of this writing, the Kickstarter has gathered $113, 629 of its $1,350,000 goal. It’s total crowdfunding earnings are $270,964. The project has 19 days left.
If it fails, backers who paid through PayPal will receive a refund, according to Jackson.
If funded, the first episode of Shadow of the Eternals is said to launch on Windows PC and Wii U in 2014.
