The Last of Us season pass details revealed [Update: Confirmed, additional details]

Update: The Last of Us developer Naughty Dog confirmed everything below in a post on the company website.

The $19.99 season pass includes a 30 percent discount on the three pieces of DLC sold individually, which would mean each piece will be sold at roughly $10 separately, but the developer has not confirmed that.

The season pass is available for pre-order on the PlayStation Store and will be available at GameStop upon release.

The “Grounded” making of video will detail the development of The Last of Us and will be produced by Area 5.

Naughty Dog remains vague on the details of the DLC packs themselves, but it did say regarding the story additions: “The journey and cast of characters in The Last of Us lends itself to thorough narrative exploration and we’ve got more of the story to tell.”

The multiplayer DLC will include additional maps and “other expansions.”

“You’ll be hearing about our multiplayer over the next couple of days. It’s an experience that continues the themes, tone and tension from the single player campaign and we can’t wait to tell you more about it.”

Original post:

The Last of Us will have a season pass for $19.99 that includes three DLC packs and various item enhancements, according to a GameStop worker who provided a photo of it to PlayStation LifeStyle.

The photo doesn’t looked to be altered, according to the results we found with FotoForensics.

If real, the season pass vaguely promises, “more story, more maps, more of The Last of Us,” and “increased crafting speed, increased healing speed, 9mm reload speed upgrade, rifle clip capacity upgrade, and “Grounded” a 90-minute making of video.” The pass calls the content a “$30 value.”

We’ve contacted Sony about the season pass and will update the story if it responds.

The GameStop worker previously found a listing for a season pass in the GameStop computer database. It too has not been confirmed by Sony or developer Naughty Dog.

The Last of Us’ multiplayer has not been detailed yet, despite the game’s June 14 release date.
