More time, more info. With the Xbox One reveal earlier today, new screen shots and info is still coming out in droves, chaos still ensuing. With assets still coming down the line, gotgame is trying to cover it’s bases with bringing you everything Xbox One.
With a heavy focus on multi-media, MS wishes to convey the idea that, the Xbox One, will indeed be all in one. Throughout the unveil, it was very apparent what kind of living room entertainment powerhouse MS was going for, in designing the Xbox One. Some photos of the new home screen reinforce this notion.
While not too dissimilar to the current Xbox Live dashboard, there are a few differences. Social Media seems more relevant than ever before, with My Pins and Trending beating out The Games tab in numerical priority: a telling visual.
For anyone trying to avoid the clutter of advertisements, you seem to be out of luck, at least from these screens. Let’s hope MS offers an “advert light” version of the dashboard, or at least have the option for Gold Member to do so.
As seen in this scree grab, there is an option front and ready labeled “add snap”. Perhaps MS is chasing the Pin it crowd, by allowing for mass media sharing, or Xbox Live centric user created media, in connecting players in different ways. This tool of media sharing, may also help to raise revenue in regards to having users do the heavy lifting, by advertising through favorites screen shots and clips for others to up vote, down vote etc…
Needless to say, the end of this year is going to be a very busy one, with the Xbox One preparing to launch before 2014.
