Xbox One: Non-removable 500GB hard drive, compatible with external memory

The Xbox One reveal earlier today answered some questions, and left us begging for answers. Among some of the more pressing matters involving the tech, many wondered how serviceable the 500 GB Hard Drive that will come with the system would be.

Not one bit , it turns out.

In a brief exchange, Engadget’s Tim Stevens confirmed in a conversation with Senior Director of Planning Albert Penello, that the 500 GB HD that comes with the system is non removable and “as is”.

Luckily, through the use of the Xbox One’s USB 3.0 slot, you can accommodate for more memory and external devices, that can perform any task the out of the box HD is suppose to be able to accomplish.
