Hockey fans, you still have a chance to get in and vote on the athlete who will grace the cover of this year’s EA-released hockey game, NHL 14. The competition’s been going on since the beginning of May, and only 4 players remain as choices: Pavel Datsyuk, Martin Brodeur, John Tavares, and Sergei Bobrovsky.
Like the yearly competition to find out who will be on the cover of the next Madden game, EA runs a similar competition for its hockey franchise. Originally starting with 32 different competitors, each week fans have had the opportunity to vote for the player they think most deserves the honor of being the face of the game. Voting is still open, as there are two rounds left in the contest.
If you’re into ballot-box stuffing, you can jump on over to NHL.com/CoverVote, where you can vote an unlimited number of times for your favorite hockey player. You can also increase that player’s tally by tweeting on Twitter using these special player-specific hashtags; each tweet that uses one of those hashtags will count as two votes for that particular player. This round of voting will close out on May 26th at 11:59 pm. The winner of the contest will be announced to the public during the Stanley Cup Final, announced as the NHL 14 Cover Athlete.
NHL 14 will be released on PS3 and Xbox 360 in the US on September 10th, 2013, while it releases worldwide on September 13th.
