After several rumours of his departure were released on the internet, Kevin Conroy has announced today that he will play a role in Arhkam Origins, crushing all uncertainties. Sadly, he will not be back as Batman, his role in the production is still unknown.
“We’ve been working for about nine or ten months on the next Arkham game. We all signed contracts so we weren’t allowed to talk about it. The studio likes to completely control the rollout of any product, so they don’t like us to talk about anything, but it’s now been announced.” Conroy said.
In Arhkam Origins, the new Batman will be voiced by Roger Craig Smith – known for being Booker DeWitt from BioShock Infinite. “Being a part of Arkham City was just incredible – because I’m a huge Batman fan” he said. Considering his statement, I see him as a good fit for his role, but I will certainly miss the old Batman, Kevin Conroy.
Troy Baker will have the role of Joker, the prime evil of Batman’s universe. He is known for his work as Ezio Auditore from Assassin’s Creed, Chris Redfield from Resident Evil and Sonic series. He’s newbie to the world created by Warner Bros, but with a portfolio like that, we can be certain that he will do a great job.
Arhkam Origins is the latest instalment in the Batman series, and it could be one of the most expected games of the year. It will be available worldwide on October 25th for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PC and Wii U.
