According to a statement made in a podcast by Yuji Korekado, producer for Kojima Productions, Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance didn’t launch on Xbox 360 in Japan because of the console’s poor sales and popularity (in Japan). The game was originally announced for Xbox 360 too, but it was cancelled. “However, around last year, Xbox 360 sales didn’t really grow [in Japan].” Korekado said.
It seems that most of the people who live in Japan prefer the PlayStation 3 above the Xbox 360 when it comes to console gaming. Why? I can’t really say. The real question is: do you think that the game’s release on Xbox 360 would affect the Metal Gear brand or their profit? I’d love to hear your opinion on this matter.
Dragos Dobre loves to complain about games. He plays everything, but rarely enjoys doing it (except for Souls games). He’s still seeking for the unachievable perfection in games, while he’s constantly repairing his Windows PC.
