With Batman fans desperately waiting for another game starring the “Caped Crusader,” Warner Bros has commissioned their own Montreal studio to create Batman: Arkham Origins. The developer of the first two “Arkham” Batman games, UK studio Rocksteady, is taking a much deserved break from Gotham City for now.
Batman Arkham Origins takes place a few years before Arkham Asylum and Arkham City and features an expanded Gotham City with a branch of old Arkham and a new part of Arkham made for the Origins game. The fighting system will remain roughly the same with a few new improvements added to make the battle system even deeper. The developers even promise that they will take parts of the Challenge battles from the previous Arkham games and put them into the main storyline.
Here is the teaser trailer Warner Bros. just released for the game. At the end of the trailer WB states they will have a full trailer available this Monday, May 20th.
Batman: Arkham Origins is set to release on October 25, 2013 for Xbox 360, PS3, Wii U, & PC. Nintendo 3DS and PS VITA owners will also be able to pick-up a side story game called Batman: Arkham Origins Blacklight on the same day.
