There are a long list of reasons why it was better to be a kid in the 1980s and 1990s than now, and near the top of that list is the fact that we had way better cartoons. Tiny Toon Adventures, Animaniacs, DuckTales, Chip ‘n’ Dale’s Rescue Rangers, Freakazoid, Rugrats, Doug, Rocko’s Modern Life, Darkwing Duck… the list goes on and on. The best episode of SpongeBob SquarePants pales in comparison to the worse episode of any of our cartoon treasures.
And then, there’s this:
That said, I bring you possibly the best news you’ll hear all day: Adventure Time is coming to home consoles.
Following up their relatively-successful 3DS title, Adventure Time: Hey Ice King! Why’d You Steal Our Garbage?!, WayForward Technologies has announced that they will be teaming up with teaming up with creator Pendleton Ward to release a new game this fall for multiple platforms. The new game, titled Adventure Time: Explore the Dungeon Because I DON’T KNOW!, again revolves around main characters Jake the Dog and Finn the Human as they explore a massive Secret Royal Dungeon found under the Land of Ooo.
While not many details were revealed, D3Publisher and Cartoon Network did mention in their press release that it would be an action title with 4-player co-op, and that both Marceline and Cinnamon Bun will be making appearances.
The game will release for Nintendo’s Wii U and 3DS, Microsoft’s Xbox 360, Sony’s PlayStation 3, and the PC. With so many ports, if you’re a fan of the show you have no reason not to keep an eye out for this game. Failure to do so would be UNACCEPTABLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLEEEE!!!!
