GTFO, a Documentary About Sexism in Gaming, Reaches Funding Goal

GTFO is a documentary about sexism in the world of gaming that was crowd funded through Kickstarter.  To give you a better idea of what this project is all about, here are some quotes from the movie’s Kickstarter page.

“The purpose of this documentary is to reveal the experiences of women in the gaming world, both good and bad, as well as to provide steps we can take to change the environment for the better. I have already filmed interviews, tournaments, classes, and conventions, but I need your help funding the remainder of the project.”

GTFO will cover an array of topics, with trolling being just one of them. The film will also address: the portrayal of women in video games, the history of women in gaming, the experiences of women in the industry itself, the culture of games, the discouragement of young girls from participating, and more.”

On a personal note, I like girls, and I like interacting with them.  I like gaming.  So, I like girls in gaming. I also like more money being put into the industry.  That means more money to create awesome games.  Hopefully this documentary will help to create an environment where girls will feel comfortable gaming.  The documentary has reached its goal, but the campaign is four days away from closing.  If you’d like to support the project, feel free to donate a few dollars.
