Hey, remember that South Park RPG we were all salivating over after Matt & Trey pulled off their awesome reveal at Microsoft’s E3 conference last year? Then THQ financially imploded and we were all like, “Oh my god! They killed Kenny! And the rest of the game! You BASTARDS!”
Calm down, Butters. Ubisoft confirmed today that South Park: The Stick of Truth is still slated for a 2013 launch, though they wouldn’t go so far as naming an actual date.
The RPG, in which players take on the role of a New Kid in South Park trying to be one of the cool kids along with Kyle, Stan, Kenny and Cartman, was delayed previously by THQ in November of 2012. Ostensibly it was to further develop quality, though the impending financial doom probably had a part to play in it as well.
Ubisoft would not comment on the progress of the game. The mega-studio purchased the game from THQ during bankruptcy auction proceedings for a tidy sum of $3.2 million.
