If you want something done right, sometimes you gotta do it yourself.
Such is the mentality of current global president of Nintendo, Satoru Iwata, who has announced that he will also be taking on the additional title of CEO of Nintendo of America. Iwata takes over the position from Tatsumi Kimishima, who was influential in the launch of Nintendo’s Wii in November 2006. Kimishima will go on to be General Manager of Nintendo Japan.
Current Nintendo of America president and COO Reggie Fils-Aime will retain his positions, now reporting directly to Iwata.
The management dance, according to GamesIndustry.biz, comes after disappointing full-year profits, in which both Wii U and 3DS consoles failed to make their sales marks.
