Digital game sales continue to be on the upswing, according to the NPD.
GamesIndustry International reports that the NPD has noted a 33 percent grown on DLC and digital game sales from last year in the US and Europe.
In 2012, US sales reached $5.9 billion, while UK sales ended around $1.7 billion.
Of the $14.8 billion spent on games in the US during 2012, the NPD said that about 48 percent of that came from new game sales. The remaining amount came from DLC and digital games, mobile games, used games, subscriptions, rentals and social networking games.
