Windows Phone 8 Finally Gets Pandora Today
After months of promises, Pandora has finally released its official Windows Phone 8 app in the U.S., Australia and New Zealand.
As announced during Microsoft’s WP8 unveiling last year, the app will be ad-free throughout the entire 2013 calendar year, so now is the time to enjoy it without any commercial interruptions.
According to Pandora, the app will include features such as Live Tiles, and Kid’s Corner.
With Live Tiles, users can pin their favorite stations right to their device’s Start screen, and also see what’s currently playing via the Tile, without needing to launch the app. As for the Kid’s Corner integration, parent’s can customize the experience by filtering out explicit material.
“Pandora pioneered the personal music experience with individualized stations and it’s a perfect match for Windows Phone, the first truly personal smartphone experience with unique features like Live Tiles and Kids Corner,” said Joe Belfiore, VP, Windows Phone Division, Microsoft Corp. “Pandora for Windows Phone takes advantage of these features and more to deliver a free personalized music experience exclusive to the platform,” he continued.
