In a move sure to make gamers everywhere say “huh?” Epic Mickey 2 will be headed to the Playstation Vita. This move is surprising on a number of fronts. First of all, Epic Mickey 2 didn’t exactly set the world on fire with sales. The Wii version received mediocre sales with just over half a million sold while the X-Box 360 and PS3 versions sold poorly. The Wii U version also sold poorly, although it’s hard to tell whether that’s due to lack of demand or a small install base. Furthermore, the game’s developer, Junction Point, is no more. As far as I can tell, it seems that Sony is handling the port.
So, if you’ve been waiting for more Vita games uhhhh here’s Epic Mickey 2. This may not be the most exciting news ever, but Epic Mickey 2 can be a pretty decent platformer if some of the technical issues are fixed. The Vita version promises to add touch controls for painting, which should be much more intuitive than the dual stick configuration on PS3 and X-Box 360, and wi-fi co-op. Date and pricing are yet to be announced. You can read the original story at IGN.
