Debut Trailer for Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag released!
After many rumours (and later finally a confirmation) of the next instalment in the Assassin’s Creed series, Ubisoft has decided to please all excited and curious fans by releasing the first trailer for Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag. As the title itself suggests, this time the developers will take us to the Caribbean and the game will revolve around Pirates who rule the sea and have established their own lawless Republic. The year is 1715 and a new hero, a brash rebel Pirate Assassin named Edward Kenway, comes to town to save the day. Although his fight for glory has earned him the respect of legends like Blackbeard, Edward is at the same time drawn into the ancient war between Assassins and Templars – a war that may destroy everything the pirates have built.
The almost 2-minute-long trailer features some pretty neat visuals to begin with and also gives us a basic idea of what the game will be about. Though the setting and whole pirate theme may not be the most original, and some scenes even remind of Disney’s Pirates of the Caribbean movie series, I personally find it quite refreshing to say the least. There is a lot there can be done and it will be interesting to watch if the devs will make use of all the potential. I can’t wait to be fighting on decks, climbing and jumping off masts, searching for treasure chests full of jewels and golden coins (Achievement/Trophy anyone?), firing canons, roaming shores or running away from mad pirates and upset monkeys. The only thing I slightly have an issue with is the timing – after all, Assassin’s Creed III just barely came out. Hopefully Ubisoft will be able to convince players in the coming weeks that Black Flag isn’t a rushed game and we won’t be witnessing a mutiny during launch.
What about you? Are you looking forward?
Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag is scheduled to come out for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Wii U and PC this Fall. Keep an eye out, as we’ll be bringing you more information in the near future!
