‘F-Zero,’ ‘Yoshi’ Hit Nintendo eShop
Get ready to practice your best Falcon Punch, because the original F-Zero has hit the Nintendo eShop as of Wednesday.
The popular racing game which originally debuted in North America in 1991 for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System is the latest in Nintendo’s Thirty Cent retro sale on the Wii U Virtual Console. Players can relive the dangers of Mute City, Death Wind, and Red Canyon on the original game that at the time made use of revolutionary “Mode 7” technology to simulate 3D graphics on a 2D game, most notably in turning effects.
Other releases to Nintendo’s eShop for the Wii U this week include demos of Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate and Trine 2: Director’s Cut. 3DS releases include full versions of the NES puzzler Yoshi, featuring everybody’s favorite green dino, as well as Picdun 2: Witch’s Curse and Viking Invasion 2 – Tower Defense.
