Netflix Launches Super HD, 3D Streaming

A few new features are being rolled out by Netflix.

A high-quality 1080p streaming feature called Super HD is being launched for ISPs that are part of the Open Connect initiative. Interested people can visit the launch page to see if their ISP is participating.

The Super HD requires at least 5Mb/s connection speed, with 7Mb/s recommended. The PlayStation 3, Wii U, Roku XD and XS, Applie TV, Windows 8 and smart TVs and Blu-ray players with 1080p support can use the new Super HD format.

Not every piece of content is available in Super HD, and Super HD content will have a logo next to it.

In addition, Netflix is also starting to put 3D titles on the service, such as various documentaries and Immortals.
