G4 Disappears on April 22

A date has now been given for G4’s demise.

The network will shut down on April 22, when it becomes The Esquire Network. The new channel is being described as “an upscale Bravo for men.” Shows announced so far include “Knife Fight,” a chef competition show, and “The Getaway,” a celebrity travel show.

However, even though it’s for me, there’s no gaming programming slated for it.

“Realistically, guys who are into gaming are not necessarily watching television,” NBC cable executive Bonnie Hammer told the New York Times.
