Team NINJA has let loose a sneak peak of Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 Plus, set for a February 26, 2013 release, and they’re not afraid to let the blood flow.
Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 Plus, the PS Vita port of Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 (which, in turn, was the PS3 port of Ninja Gaiden 2… which, in turn, was the XBox 360 sequel to the reboot of the Ninja Gaiden series), aims to not only enhance, but correct some of the things that the PS3 game erred on. As seen in the trailer below, blood is back in copious amounts, though some non-human enemies still shoot the funky purple mist seen on the toned-down PS3 game. Also, the limb-hacking goodness is back, so get ready for heads to roll (literally) when Ryu, Ayane, Rachel, and Momiji take to the baddies.
Speaking of the female fighters, Team NINJA and Tecmo Koei have announced pre-order bonuses at GameStop: exclusive, limited edition costumes for Ayane, Momiji, and Rachel, perfect for their own chapters within the game.
These characters will also be available in Sigma 2 Plus‘s new “Tag Missions” mode, which allows players to pair up warriors to complete missions. Players will need to use their knowledge of each fighter and combine strengths and compensate for weaknesses while switching between characters in real-time to battle opponents and tackle challenges.
Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 Plus will also feature “Ninja Race” mode. Choose your fighter and your level, then choose your strategy. Do you streak through the level, or cause as much mayhem as possible? You not only battle enemies, you battle the clock in this new timed mode.
Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 Plus will hit shelves at an MSRP of $39.99, and is rated M for Mature (17+).
